This trekking is considered one of the most beautiful in the world.

Huayhuash classic trek is the best way to fully appreciate the magnitude and beauty of the snow-capped peaks and lagoons of the Cordillera Huayhuash, including Yerupajá, the second highest mountain in Peru.

Embark on a Peruvian expedition that starts with an exploration of Lima, Huaraz, and the Andes, and culminates in a transformative 10-day classic trek in Cordillera Huayhuash range.

Itinerary

Lima – Huaraz – Huayhuash Classic Trek

Day 01: Arrival in Lima

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be received and transferred to the Hotel.
Overnight Hotel.

Day 02: Lima - Huaraz

City Tour Lima Colonial.
Transfer to bus station.
Night bed-bus 160º to Huaraz (8 hrs.).
Overnight Bus.

Day 03: Huaraz: Acclimatization Tour

Transfer bus station to hotel.
Full day tour in Huascaran National Park, Cordillera Blanca Range (Laguna Rocotuyoc).
Overnight Hotel

Day 04: Huaraz: Acclimatization Hike

Full day hike in Huascaran National Park, Cordillera Blanca Range (Laguna 69 or Churup).
Overnight Hotel

Day 05: HUAYHUASH TREK

Huaraz – Chiquian – Cuartelhuain (4,180 M.)
Driving time: 5 hours approx.
Camping: Quartelhuain.
Overnight Camping

Day 06: Cuartelhuain (4,180 m.) - Cacanan Punta Pass (4,700 m.) - Mitucocha (4,230 m.)

Hiking time: 5 hours approx.
Camping: Mitucocha.
Overnight Camping

Day 07: Mitucocha (4,230 m.) - Carhuac Pass “Yanapunta” (4,650 m.) - Laguna Carhuacocha (4,140 m.)

Hiking time: 6 hours approx.
Camping: Carhuacocha
Overnight Camping

Day 08: Laguna Carhuacocha (4,140 m.) - Paso Siula (4,830 m.) - Huayhuash (4,350 m.)

Hiking time: 8 hours approx.
Camping: Huayhuash

Day 09: Huayhuash (4,350 m.) - Paso Portachuelo (4,780 m.) - Laguna Viconga (Hot spring pool Guñog 4350m.)

Hiking time: 6 hours approx.
Camping: Hot spring pool Guñog
Overnight Camping

Day 10: Hot spring pool Guñog - Cuyoc pass (5,050 m.) - Cuyocpampa (4,560 m.) - San Antonio Viewpoint (5,079 m.)

Optional: Climbing Mt. Pumarinri 5.465 m. (extra charge).
Hiking time: 7 hours approx.
Camping: Cuyocpampa
Overnight Camping

Day 11: Cuyocpampa (4,560 m.) - Santa Rosa Pass (5,070 m.) - Huayllapa (3,600 m.)

Hiking time: 9 hours approx.
Camping: Huayllapa village
Overnight Camping

Day 12: Huayllapa (3,600 m.) - Tapush Pass (4,770 m.) - Gashpapampa (4,570 m.)

Hiking time: 7 hours approx.
Camping: Gashpapampa
Overnight Camping

Day 13: Gashpapampa (4,570 m.) - Punta Llaucha Pass (4,850 m.) - Laguna Jahuacocha (4,100m.)

Optional: Climbing Mt. Diablo Mudo 5.427 m. (extra charge).
Hiking time: 6 hours approx.
Camping: Jahuacocha
Overnight Camping

Day 14: Laguna Jahuacocha - Pampa Llamac Pass (4,300 m.) - Llamac - Huaraz

Hiking time: 5 hours approx.
Driving time: 5 hours approx.
Overnight Hotel

Day 15: Huaraz - Lima

Morning bus to Lima (8 hrs.)
Transfer hotel/bus station/hotel

Day 16: International Flight

Climbing Pumarinri or Diablo Mudo: Extra charge USD $120 per person
Huayhuash trek is based on groups of 4 to 10 people.

Acclimatization Hikes
Transport: From your hotel in Huaraz to the starting point of the trek, and from the end of the trek to your hotel in Huaraz.
Camping: Good quality mountain tents (2 people per tent), mattresses, dining tent, kitchen tent, tables, chairs, dishes and kitchen utensils.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner (option for vegetarians or vegans).
Guide: Certified trekking guide (English or Spanish) for another language by request.
Cook: Trained cook to prepare varied and healthy dishes.
Donkey driver: In charge of loading the donkeys and driving them.
Donkeys: You can carry up 6kg of personal items that will be loaded onto the donkeys. During the day you will only carry your backpack with things for personal use.
First aid kit.

Single room or tent supplement.
Personal trekking equipment: Sleeping bag (it is possible to rent in Huaraz), trekking shoes or boots, clothing, GORE‑TEX layer, backpack, flashlight, etc.
Personal climbing equipment: Crampons, ice axes, boots, helmet, harness (only if you purchase climbing Diablo Mudo or Pumarinri).
Additional costs: as a result of leaving the trek early, emergency rescue and/or evacuation, extra food or drinks in towns, medical treatment.
